The name of it is a frequent mistake made by many people, even locals, but the right answer is the Elizabeth Tower.

Big Ben is the name that was given to the bell inside the clock, not the tower itself. The truth is that only a few locals know the proper name for this legendary monument, calling it other than Big Ben might sound strange to most of them.
